❓ Bill payments & top-ups FAQs

Do I need an appointment?
No. Just come in during opening hours — Monday to Saturday 09:30–20:00, Sunday 09:30–16:00.
Can I pay any household bill here?
You can pay bills where the company supports payment at a Post Office — that is usually shown on the bill itself, often as a barcode or a Post Office payment slip. Bring the paperwork and we will check it for you.
What if my barcode will not scan?
Ask the company that sent the bill for a replacement barcode or payment slip. We cannot key in a reference by hand or guess an account number, because the payment could go astray.
Do you take card, or is it cash only?
It depends on the service and on the company being paid — some are cash only. If it matters for your visit, call us on 01706 725399 first and we will check before you travel.
Do I need ID?
For Western Union money transfer and certain payout services, yes — valid photo ID. For everyday bill payments and top-ups, normally not.
How long does a payment take to reach the company?
That is set by the company you are paying, not by us, and it varies. Your receipt is your proof of payment on the day. If a deadline is tight, pay a few days early.
Can I post something in the same visit?
Yes. We are a full Post Office branch, so you can post, drop off a parcel or buy postage at the same counter visit.
